You  may find yourself putting off a task that you find dull or boring.  You may dread doing the filing at work or straightening the front room, so you put off doing the boring job.  When this is the case, here are three things to try:
  1. Make a game out of it. How much can you do in a given amount of time? Set a timer and try to finish before it goes off.
  1. Have a friend work with you. Studies have shown that we get more done when working with a partner, or just having someone in the room to keep us company.
  1. Offer yourself a reward. “When I finish this, I will give myself a _______.”
Bonus idea:  Delegate or exchange the part you don’t like with somebody else.
